Quality control: Ensuring customers receive complete packages
Gently transferring the casters into the bag solves only the first part of the challenge. The subsequent inspection is equally important. With volumes shipped worldwide, it is unrealistic to rely on visual inspection of every bag by an operator. Missing parts are not always visible at first glance.
That is why a robust stainless-steel load cell checkweigher is integrated downstream of the packaging machine. Every finished package passes across it.
The system knows the target weight of a correctly filled bag. For example, if a package should contain five casters, the scale verifies that the final weight matches the expected value. If the system detects any deviation, the bag is automatically rejected.
For operators, the process is simple.
For quality assurance, it is critical.
Because the customer at the end of the supply chain does not care whether the error occurred during dosing, packaging, or inspection. They only see that a caster is missing from the package.
