How does a cartoning machine work? There are several types of cartoning machines. In principle, whether vertical or horizontal, the machine forms a carton from a flat blank, fills it with product, closes it (by gluing or tucking flaps), and then transfers it for further handling.

What products are cartoning machines suitable for? They are used for secondary packaging of already packed products or grouped items (bags/boxes), where packaging into a paper carton is required. The machine type is always selected based on carton size and required speed.

What types of carton packaging can NOMATECH machines handle?
We offer casepacking machines CASE for American-style flap boxes, wrap-around cartons, trays, boxes with or without lids, etc. At the same time, the BOX 60H, BOX 60V, BOX 200H CONTI cartoning machines are suitable for flap cardboard boxes. The BOX ROBO GROUP cartoning machine is suitable for cartoning trays.
The only limitation is the minimum and maximum dimensions.

Can one machine handle different carton sizes? Yes, the machines are multi-format and conversion can always be done within the minimum and maximum possible dimensions of the given device. It is advisable to submit this request during the initial contact with the sales department and before ordering. To change the format, it is enough to simply replace a few parts.

How are cartons closed? Cartons are closed using hot-melt glue (NORDSON), adhesive tape, or tuck-in flaps.

How is packaging machine connected with cartoning and palletizing ? Machines are connected via conveyors - belt, roller, or modular—adapted to the specific layout and production line. This ensures smooth product flow between devices and efficient, safe operation.

I need to pack a bag into a box. Which machine is suitable? For inserting bags into carton boxes we recommend cartoning machines BOX 60H or BOX 60H mini or continuous BOX 200H CONTI, depending on dimensions and requested output.

How many operators are needed? Typically 1–2 operators for supervision and replenishment (cartons, labels, glue, pallets).

What safety features are included? Standard: protective covers, safety limit switches (stop when opened), emergency STOP buttons. Optional: safety fencing.

Are NOMATECH machines environmentally friendly? The operation of the packaging machines is environmentally friendly and does not generate excessive amounts of waste. When they are started, approximately 15 cycles with empty boxes must be performed - this waste is automatically separated and further disposed of as recyclable material. No other waste is generated in normal operation of the machine. After the end of the equipment's service life, no substances or gases harmful to the environment are present. The machine consists mainly of a steel frame, which is fully recyclable, and covers made of acrylic, which can be processed as standard plastic.

What are the most common mistakes in packaging line design? The most common mistakes in packaging line design are:
- Insufficient adaptation of the machine to the type of product – each product requires a specific type of packaging and dosing equipment. If a sample of the product and packaging material is not available, it is easy to configure unsuitable equipment.
- Underestimation of the capacity and speed of the line.
- Incompleteness of the line – failure to include some additional equipment (marking equipment, package inspection, etc.).
- Omitted hygiene/safety requirements.
- Difficult maintenance due to poor accessibility.
- Proper design requires a detailed analysis of the product, production volume and operating space to make the line efficient, safe and easy to maintain.

In what environment should the cartoning machine operate? The machine is capable of operating in an environment with temperatures from 5 to 35°C at a relative humidity of no more than 65%. It must not be installed in a chemically aggressive environment or in an environment with a risk of explosion. The machine must be leveled. Dust around the machine must be minimized. Floor vibrations may cause deterioration of function.

Is technical documentation a part of the machine delivery? Yes, as standard we supply a Technical Manual and Operating Instructions including electrical diagrams, a Declaration of Conformity certificate, and an Electrical System Revision. The language versions available are Czech and English (in some cases also Polish, Russian, and German), these manuals can be supplied in other languages upon request and for an additional fee.

How long does it take to change formats on the cartoning machines? It depends on the type of packaging machine and the skill of the operator. For vertical machines, cartoning machines and bagging machines, it is generally about 20–60 minutes.
